A large amount of narcotic, herbal substance was found yesterday in two travel suitcases, which remained unclaimed, at Larnaca airport.

In particular, 42 kilograms and 950 grams of a plant substance called cathine, which is included in the list of narcotic substances, were found in the two pieces of luggage.

The two pieces of luggage had arrived at Larnaca airport, from a foreign country, on February 25, 2024, without being picked up by any person. Yesterday during the process of returning them to their country of origin, the suitcases were searched by members of the Customs Department, resulting in the discovery of the drugs.

The confiscated drugs were handed over to YCAN (Larnaka Provincial Office) which is investigating the case.
