The proposal of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works was approved at today's meeting by the Council of Ministers in relation to the modification of the measure applied at the gates of the Republic to present a negative result from a molecular examination by persons traveling to Cyprus.

Specifically, with effect from Friday, January 14, 2022, at 5 am, passengers, aged 12 and over, and regardless of historical vaccination, wishing to travel to the Republic of Cyprus, have the option of performing one of the following diagnostics controls:

1. RT-PCR laboratory test valid for up to 72 hours before departure, either2. antigen rapid test valid 24 hours before departure.

It should be noted that the obligation to perform a PCR on arrival at the Republic's airports still applies to all passengers, aged 12 and over, regardless of historical vaccination. It is noted that the cost of the examination (€ 15 at Larnaca Airport and € 19 at Paphos Airport) is borne by the passenger.

In addition, all passengers aged 12 and over must undergo an rapid antigen test 72 hours after arrival, with the exception of passengers receiving the booster / 3rd dose of acceptable vaccine against COVID-19.

Finally, it is reminded that the completion of the Cyprus Flight Pass before departure is mandatory for all people traveling to the Republic of Cyprus.
