A protest was held on Wednesday afternoon outside the Presidential Palace over the cuts to home photovoltaic systems, with protesters demanding immediate action.
A number of people gathered around 18:00 PM outside the Presidential Palace, following a spontaneous call on Social Media, delivering a letter with their requests to the President of the Republic.
In the letter, signed by Andreas Thrasyvoulou on behalf of the Owners of Residential Photovoltaic Systems in Cyprus, they request, among other things, the immediate cessation of outages and/or a reduction in the price of kilowatt-hour for owners of residential photovoltaic systems, as well as compensation for lost electricity production due to frequent outages.
Also, home photovoltaic owners are calling for the immediate promotion of a subsidy plan for the installation of storage systems, the upgrading of power plants with the installation of flexible units, and the abolition of the passing on of the cost of EU fines to citizens due to the use of fuel oil.
In addition, they call for the complete abolition or readjustment of the zero stock rule.
