The Nicosia District Court issued an arrest warrant on Monday against former Volunteer Commissioner Giannakis Giannakis, with instructions to remain in custody until his next court appearance on April 2.
Earlier, Mr. Giannakis did not appear at the hearing that was scheduled to begin at 10.30 in the morning, while he stated over the phone through a lawyer that he was ill.
