PASYDY, expresses its strong concern for the growing and painful consequences of the pandemic, on the occasion of yesterday's negative record of 416 confirmed cases COVID-19, the loss of 2 more people from the disease, as well as the increase in hospitalized patients from the virus.

"As a result of the aggravated epidemiological picture of the last few days in connection with the issuance of Circular No. 1632 by the General Director of the Ministry of Finance, PASYDY invites the relevant heads of the Ministries and Departments of the Public Service, to implement as far as possible, where possible, the distance work ", it is mentioned in a statement.

The obvious goal is to protect colleagues, but also the whole society, by avoiding co-morbidity in the workplace with the risk of creating new transmission chains, in order to limit the spread of the virus, notes PASYDY.

"As we have repeated in the past, colleagues in the Public Service are now familiar with the exercise of their duties through teleworking and are therefore able with the existing infrastructure to work with this method efficiently and productively," it said. It is also pointed out that "the protection of colleagues guarantees the continuation of the smooth operation of the Ministries and Departments of the State and consequently the uninterrupted offer of services to the citizens, which in the difficult days we are going through is a basic prerequisite".

"In addition, we appeal to all colleagues, but also to society at large, to comply with individual protection measures and comply with health protocols to stem the spread of the coronavirus," it said.

Concluding, in view of the holidays, it is underlined that "it is our duty to realize the critical turning point we are going through and to contribute individually and collectively to limit the spread of the pandemic, thus strengthening the wider effort to return to the less possible consequences and losses ".
