141% increased sales from occupied to free areas in 2022 compared to 2021.
The Turkish Cypriot newspaper Kibris writes in its publication today that sales from the occupied territories in the Republic of Cyprus under the Green Line Regulation increased by 141% in 2022 compared to the previous year, according to data from the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce.
The top-selling products last year were: prefabricated containers, building materials, wooden furniture, plastic products, fresh fish, mattresses, paper and cardboard products, curtains, indoor blinds and similar products, as well as stainless steel industrial kitchen counters and appliances.
According to the data of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (KTTO), the amount of sales, which was 6 million 123 thousand 707,03 euros in 2021, increased by 8 million 641 thousand 755,56 euros in 2022 and amounted to 14 million 765 thousand 462 euros.
Sales revenue of 3 million 863 thousand 182,15 euros was generated for prefabricated containers, which had a 26% share among the top 10 products sold in the Republic of Cyprus under the Green Line Regulation. Sales of 3 million 586 thousand 450,28 euros were made in building materials, which had a 24% share among the top 10 products sold.
Wooden furniture had a 21% share among the best-selling products last year, reaching sales worth 3 million 85 thousand 379,98 euros. Plastic products, which have a 12% share among the best-selling products in the Republic of Cyprus, ranked 4th among the best-selling products last year with a sales amount of 1 million 780 thousand 738,54 euros.
Fresh fish sales figures amounted to 815 thousand 628,45 euros with a 6% share in the top 10 list in 2022. Last year, the share of the top 5 best-selling products among the best-selling products was 89%, totaling 13 million 131 thousand 379,40 euros.
Sales of 114 thousand 961,42 euros for 3 new products
Last year, three new products were sold compared to the previous year. The products sold in this context were cartons, stainless steel industrial worktops and kitchen appliances, as well as electrical panels.
The amount collected from the sales of stainless steel industrial countertops and kitchen utensils was 43 thousand 597,32 euros, from the sales of cardboard boxes it was 48 thousand 727,10 euros and from the sales of electrical panels it was 22 thousand 637 euros.
The total receipts from the 3 new products sold last year were 114 thousand 961,42 euros.
