No case of premeditated murder or homicide has been established in relation to the death of 62-year-old Vitaly Shostak, who was found dead on the evening of December 27, at his home in Limassol. His 63-year-old wife, who was detained as a suspect, was released.
According to the TAE Limassol, the file with the forensic report, the results of the scientific and other tests, secured by the Police, was forwarded yesterday to the Legal Service, which ruled that no crimes against the suspect were established.
The 63-year-old woman, who insisted from the first moment on her innocence, stating that she found her husband with a knife stuck in his chest, was released on Wednesday night, on the instructions of the Legal Service.
In his forensic report, medical examiner Nikolas Charalambous did not find any injuries, both on the 62-year-old and on the 63-year-old woman, that would indicate that there had been a fight between them and left open the possibility of suicide.
