The Ministry of Health has been operating the "walk-in" vaccination centers since Thursday, July 15, with the aim of facilitating the citizens for their access to the vaccination.
According to a statement, the "walk-in" centers are a practice that is already applied in other foreign countries and aim to strengthen the effort for vaccination.
In Cyprus, these centers will operate in all Provinces and will be housed in the existing Vaccination Centers, in order to serve citizens who wish to be vaccinated, but have not scheduled an appointment in advance through the Vaccination Portal.
At the moment, in the "walk-in" centers it will be possible to vaccinate people who are beneficiaries of GESS with possible expansion in the future to cover non-beneficiaries or non-contractors with GESS. Vaccinations will involve new vaccinations, ie people who will be vaccinated with the 1st dose of the vaccine and not vaccination with the 2nd dose and will be given priority according to the attendance of the citizens (practice "first-come, first-served").
Specifically, the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine will currently be administered to walk-in centers. Opening hours will be from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 1 pm, at the following locations:
Nicosia District: Latsia Health Center, Limassol District: Linopetra Health Center, Larnaca District: Port, Paphos District: Paphos General Hospital, Famagusta District: Famagusta General Hospital.
It is emphasized that the appointments of the people who have been scheduled through the Vaccination Portal are not affected and will be processed normally at the Vaccination Center, on the day and time that were arranged by each beneficiary.
It is emphasized that the beneficiaries must present proof of identification (identity card, passport, foreigner registration card, etc.).
