A yellow warning for severe weather was issued by the Meteorological Department.
According to an update, the warning is in effect from 11:00 am to 16:00 pm.
In particular, "individual storms are expected to affect mainly inland and mountainous areas, while hail is also likely to fall. The intensity of the rain is expected to vary between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour."

Today the weather will initially be partly cloudy with isolated showers likely, mainly on the western and northern coasts, but by the afternoon it will become mostly cloudy and localized showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the highlands and inland. Hail is also possible in the storm area. Winds will be mainly south-west to north-west weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and transient on the southern coast up to strong, 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough but in the headwinds it will be quite rough.
The temperature will rise to around 30 degrees in the interior, south and east coasts, around 28 on the west and north coasts and around 18 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will become partly cloudy with isolated showers possible, mainly along the coast. Winds will become northwest to northeast and on the northern coast southeast, weak 3 Beaufort. The sea will initially be a little rough to later become calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 17 degrees in the interior, around 19 on the coast and around 10 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy and at times mainly cloudy and local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly after noon. Local effects are likely to be intense.
On Wednesday and Thursday the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated rains will fall in the afternoon, mainly in the mountains.
The temperature will drop slightly on Tuesday, to fluctuate below the average climatic values. A small increase is expected on Wednesday and Thursday to return to close to the average climatic values.
