As part of the evaluation of information regarding drug trafficking, members of the National Anti-Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN) yesterday conducted checks on two vehicles in an area of Nicosia, as well as searches in two homes, in Nicosia and Larnaca.
During the checks and searches of the homes, significant quantities of narcotics, sums of money and other evidence were located and seized, while four arrests were made, three men and one woman.
Specifically, in an audit carried out:
In the vehicle of a 25-year-old driver: A quantity of cannabis weighing 3 kilograms and 228 grams, a sum of money and other evidence were located and seized, while in a search conducted at his home in Larnaca, a quantity of cannabis weighing one kilogram and 614 grams was located.
In the vehicle of a 27-year-old driver: Three mobile phones and a metal hammer with traces of cannabis were found.
A search followed at the 27-year-old's home in Nicosia, where:
A 35-year-old man was spotted leaving the main entrance, holding a box. A search of the box revealed a quantity of cannabis weighing 3 kilograms and 832 grams, as well as a sum of money of 16,700 euros.
During the search of the house, which was carried out in the presence of a 28-year-old woman, the following were found:
A quantity of cannabis weighing 37 grams,
Two metal crushers with traces of cannabis,
A half-smoked cigarette containing cannabis,
Three mobile phones and
Monetary amount.
The four arrested are expected to be brought before the Nicosia District Court today, for the issuance of a detention order.
