In the last 24 hours (from 06.00 on Wednesday until 06.00 today), the Cypriot Police carried out 2.072 inspections throughout Cyprus, in order to verify the observance of the measures and the implementation of the decrees of the Law on Infection.

As a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters stated to KYPE, during the inspections, 20 complaints were made by citizens and 11 people in charge of premises.

With regard to provincial controls, in Nicosia 513 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 7 complaints from citizens and 5 Limassol 216 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 8 complaints from citizens and 3 Larnaca 583 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 2 complaints of citizens and an estate, in Paphos 132 inspections were carried out, which resulted in a complaint of premises, in Famagusta 286 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 3 complaints of citizens and an establishment, in the area Morphou 192 inspections were carried out without any complaints.

Also, the Pancyprian Traffic Police carried out 150 inspections, without any complaints.

Answering a question, the representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters said that the majority of the complaints to citizens concerned the non-use of a protective mask.

Regarding the complaints in premises, in Nicosia, the four premises, a restaurant, two cafes and a fast food restaurant, an inspection revealed that they allowed an employee to work without safepass and was issued in each premises out of € 500, and the fifth premises concerned a Betting Agency, which inspection revealed that the person in charge was without a protective mask and an extrajudicial € 500 was issued.

At Limassol, one premises concerned a fast food restaurant, which from an audit revealed that employees worked without a valid safepass and an extrajudicial € 750 was issued, the second concerned a steakhouse, which from an audit revealed that employees also worked without a valid safepass and an extrajudicial € 500 was issued, the third estate concerned a supermarket, which from an inspection revealed that the person in charge of the space was without safepass and an extrajudicial € 500 was issued.

At Larnaca, the premises concerned a fruit grove, which from an inspection revealed that an employee was working without safepass and an extrajudicial € 1.500 was issued.

At Paphos, the premises concerned a supermarket, which from an inspection showed that it did not have antiseptic in a visible place and an out-of-court settlement of € 500 was issued
