Greek citizens repatriated from Israel via Egypt, on flight to Athens and Cypriots

A total of 105 Greek citizens and their family members, as well as Cypriots and citizens of other nationalities, were repatriated from Israel via Egypt in an operation coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassies of Greece in Tel Aviv and Cairo and the Consulate General of Greece in Jerusalem.

A statement from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the repatriation operation was completed safely today, Wednesday, June 18.

The repatriates were transported to Athens from Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, by C-130 and C-27 aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force.

Through the above flight, "the return of citizens of European and third countries was also facilitated, including from Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Georgia, Switzerland, the USA, Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, Sweden," it added.

It is noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic and consular authorities of Greece in the region remain fully prepared to provide all possible assistance, the announcement states.
