Aerial searches resumed on Wednesday, at first light, in the Gulf of Chrysochous, to locate a 35-year-old Polish tourist who has been missing since Easter Tuesday. The searches are being coordinated by the Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the Republic.

Searches continued throughout the night, both by sea and by land, but without any results so far.

According to Paphos Assistant Police Chief Michalis Nikolaou, at around 10:30 yesterday morning, the tourist departed alone from the port of Latchi on a rented inflatable boat for a short tour of the surrounding sea area.

Around 16:30, he added, the boat was spotted by citizens floating unmanned in the sea area of Argaka, approximately 200 meters from the coast, without a passenger.

Mr. Nikolaou continued, the Police were immediately informed and by extension the Central Disaster and Emergency Response Center, which is coordinating the search and rescue operation and which activated the National Plan "Nearchos".

Two helicopters from the Police and the National Guard, and one helicopter from the Port and Maritime Police, as well as members of the Paphos Police Department by land, are taking part in the investigations.
