"Bells rang" for safepasses - 16.000 in a cafeteria and 8.000 in a supermarket

The Police, in the last 24 hours (from 06.00 on Tuesday until 06.00 today Wednesday) after 2.909 inspections carried out nationwide, made 21 complaints of citizens and 9 complaints of officials responsible for non-compliance with the measures and implementation of the decrees of the Infection Law.

As a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters stated to KYPE, most of the citizens' complaints concerned trafficking without the use of a protective mask in public places and premises.

Regarding the inspections by province, in Nicosia, 1.039 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 4 complaints of citizens and 3 premises. Complaints against premises include a fine of 16.000 euros in a cafeteria where no safepass check was carried out and a € 8.000 fine in a supermarket where an employee worked without safepass.

In Limassol, 228 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 8 complaints from citizens and 1 property, which concerned the imposition of a fine of 500 euros on a person who did not have a safe pass.

In Larnaca, 599 inspections were carried out, which resulted in complaints from 2 citizens and 2 premises, including the imposition of a fine of 8.000 euros because the person in charge of the premises did not have a safe pass.

In Paphos, 174 inspections were carried out, from which 2 complaints of citizens and 2 premises emerged.

In Famagusta, 506 inspections were carried out, which resulted in complaints from 5 citizens and an establishment, in the Morfos area, 95 inspections were carried out without any complaints.

The Traffic Police carried out 268 inspections throughout Cyprus, from which no complaints emerged.
