The General Director of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Christina Giannaki, was at the Linoptera Medical Center today, noting that the goal is to vaccinate 65% of the citizens, by the end of June.

Christina Giannaki carried out a number of vaccinations in the morning, along with volunteers who came to help, due to today's strike of the nurses and as she stated in her statements, there will be 130 vaccinations today at the Linopetra Medical Center and about 65 vaccinations at the old hospital , with AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines.

"6.000 of our fellow human beings will be vaccinated in Cyprus today, but we have moved about 4.800 vaccines for the next few days," he said, stressing that the Ministry of Health's goal is to vaccinate 65% of the population by the end of June.

We, he added, will continue this work and this goal of ours, for the well-understood interest of the place but also of public health.

Asked to comment on actions that are hampering the vaccination process, such as the nurses' strike, Ms. Giannaki said that "the Ministry of Health will not be concerned at the moment" and that "our goal is there and we must implement it." .

In relation to the case of inappropriate rapid tests, the Director General of the Ministry of Health said that she would not comment on the issue, which, as she noted, is handled by the Police and the Legal Service.
