A special incident is described in a post by the Head of the Ambulance Service, Riana Konstantinou.
As he reports, last night, a woman gave birth prematurely at 27 weeks of pregnancy, inside her home, which was located in a remote area.
Members of the Service rushed to the scene, with Ms. Konstantinou speaking of a rescue operation that was crowned with complete success, despite the enormous challenges.
The Coordination Center and the crews, as he notes, had to manage two critical patients at the same time, the mother and the newborn.
"Reviving a newborn even within the safe environment of a hospital is not an easy task, let alone out there," he stressed.
