A coordinated operation by the Akrotiri Police with the Anti-Drug Service of the Republic of Cyprus (YKAN) was a great success, where a significant quantity of illegal substances was identified and seized.
The coordinated operation targeted organized crime in the Trachoni area of Limassol. The operation led to the seizure of 19kg of cannabis and a significant amount of money. Four people have been arrested and are in custody.
The Akrotiri Police are working closely with the National Crime Agency to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice and that local communities remain safe.
Senior Superintendent of Police M. Papagrigoriou stated that “the operation demonstrates our steadfast commitment, in collaboration with the Hellenic Police, to tackling serious and organized crime.” As she said, the quantity of drugs seized constitutes a significant blow to the criminal networks that cause serious harm to our communities.
He continued: "We will continue to target those involved in drug trafficking."
