A 43-year-old man and two 28-year-old men were arrested yesterday afternoon and remanded in custody to facilitate inquiries into an investigation into assaulting police officers, reckless and dangerous driving, failing to obey a police signal and more.
Specifically, yesterday afternoon, members of the Police followed with their official vehicle, a car in which three people were riding, which was being driven dangerously and recklessly on the coastal road of Voroklini.
With the use of a siren and a beacon, the members of the Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver of which allegedly developed speed, while both the driver and the passenger of the said vehicle were seen throwing objects out of it.
Finally, the vehicle in question was stopped in a village in the province of Larnaca.
The three occupants of the vehicle allegedly resisted the attempt of the members of the Police to arrest them for the offenses they committed and attacked them, causing them real physical harm.
The three persons were arrested and taken into custody, while the two policemen as well as the 43-year-old arrested, visited the Larnaca General Hospital where they were given first aid and discharged.
The three arrested were taken into custody, while this morning they are expected to be brought to the Larnaca District Court for the process of issuing their arrest warrant. When questioned, one of the 28-year-olds allegedly admitted that they had in their possession a small amount of the narcotic substance crystal, which they threw out of the car.
The Athienou Police Station in collaboration with YCAN (Klimakio Larnaca) are continuing the examinations.
