On the program Without Spins, candidates for the Presidency were hosted. Yannis Kareklas's guests in last night's telefight were Nikos Christodoulidis, Giorgos Kolokasidis, Andreas Mavroyiannis and Konstantinos Christofidis.
Among other things, "bloods ignited" after Mavroyiannis' reference to what is circulating on Social Media about Mr. Christodoulidis's doctorate. The latter had a letter with him which he handed to Mr. Kareklas asking him to read it.
At the same time, he also gave it to Mr. Mavroyiannis, who previously said, "First we started with plagiarism of the announcement, then we had platform theft from Facebook, then fake accounts and threats against opponents. We also saw it in the press, I wish there wasn't anything because I don't know where we are going to stand as human beings... this story with Mr. Christodoulidis' doctorate".
Then Mr. Christodoulidis said to him, "Mr. Mavroyiannis, I am sorry that you open such a matter publicly. It's irresponsible what you're doing..."
"I ask that this thing be a lie... I have no doubt that you were influenced..." said Mr. Mavroyiannis.
(she took out a letter and gave it to him at this point)
"No! You shouldn't have even raised it since you have no doubts," said Mr. Christodoulidis.
"That is not the issue.. there is an accessibility problem which creates doubts", answered Mr. Christodoulidis.
"You can read it," said Nikos Christodoulidis to Mr. Kareklas.
The confrontation between the two was preceded by a report from the former Rector of the University of Cyprus and current candidate, who among other things said to Mr. Christodoulidis, "...what a new Mr. Christodoulidis, you have been at the core of the Presidential office for 9 years that pushed the country us to corruption and disrepute. You are flesh of the flesh – as Mr. Averof used to say – of this system.
How did you endure this bullshit Mr. Christodoulidis... you were at the core of the corruption, why didn't you resign...?
Two things could be happening: either you didn't see them so you have a reduced perception, sorry, or you saw them and didn't leave and just stayed in the chair."
"When the next administration begins with so many suitors around, will you have any idea what will happen with the party that will take place?", asked Mr. Christofidis.
At another point Mr. Christofidis said "... Mr. Christodoulidis copied an entire speech. You were a candidate for 4-5 years you could have written it yourself.. you couldn't because you simply have no vision and no plan for the place. This is the reality.
Really, who are you uniting Mr. Christodoulidis? all the opportunists about.."
"What you say, Mr. Christofidis, is offensive," answered Mr. Christodoulidis.
"Very nice, that's how I feel about her. Those who are looking for a chair.. unite Mr. Christodoulidis all the failed parties. Those who failed to become MPs, mayors. Seeing the level of our Parliament, with the successful MPs, I wonder what a government with the failed parties will be like...", said Mr. Christofidis.
