Preventive Instructions to the Public

---

Due to the unstable and fluid situation in the area, the public is being proactively informed that, in the event of a need, sirens will sound in the affected areas and announcements will be made through various channels, including radio and television, so as to inform the population to head to the nearest shelter.

Shelters can be located through the “SafeCY” application or through the Operations Control Center of the General Directorate of Civil Defense on telephone numbers 22 403 451 or 22 403 452.

It is noted that if there is no shelter nearby, citizens are urged to remain in a safe place inside their home or business, such as underground parking lots and areas with solid walls. Staying indoors is preferable to staying outdoors. At the same time, trained Neighborhood Watchers will be in areas of increased need to direct and assist the population.

It is recalled that, according to the instructions of Civil Defense:

If you are in an area where there is no shelter nearby, find a space inside your home away from windows, doors and glass to take shelter. In case of an alarm, make sure to have a portable radio, flashlight and first aid supplies (water, dry food, first aid kit) with you. In case of an alarm, fall face down and cover your head with your hands. If you are outdoors and there is no time to seek shelter, lie down on the ground, preferably in a small pit or ditch. Remain calm and follow the instructions of the competent authorities.

Instructions for short-term use of shelters: Locate your nearest shelter in advance, Prepare an emergency kit containing basic items: water, dry food, first aid supplies, flashlight, batteries, radio, medication, important documents, a little money and baby food, if you have children, In case of an alarm, go to the nearest shelter following the instructions of the competent authorities, Keep your composure and try to access the various sources of information.
