A weak low pressure system is affecting the area. From Thursday onwards, the area will be affected by the cold air mass named CORAL, while at times a strengthened northerly wind field will prevail.
Today, the weather will be partly cloudy and intermittently cloudy, while isolated rains and the occurrence of an isolated storm are expected during the midday hours and after. In a storm, hail is not ruled out. Snow may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will blow southwest to northwest, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and soon moderate to strong and on the windward coast strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea in the east will be a little rough, however on the rest of the coast it will be rough and locally rough.
