"Elpis" is coming with rain, storms and snow from the afternoon, according to the Meteorological Service. 

Weather forecast: 

The low barometric "Elpis" begins to affect the area from this afternoon while from Sunday a cold gas mass is expected.

Today the weather will be partly cloudy to gradually become mostly cloudy, while initially isolated rains are expected, without excluding the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the western half of the island, as well as snow locally in the higher mountains. From early afternoon onwards, local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, initially from the west and south, while other areas will be gradually affected. At times the effects may be intense, while in the higher mountains snowfall is expected.

The winds will blow southwest to west, initially weak to moderate, 3 to 4 beauforts, and locally moderate, 4 beauforts, to soon become moderate to strong, 4 to 5 beauforts and temporarily on the windward coast to very strong, 6 beauforts. THE sea it will be a little turbulent in the east and south and turbulent in the west and north. THE temperature will rise to around 15 degrees inland, to 14 on the southwest coast, to 16 on the rest of the coast and around 4 degrees in the higher mountains. Frost will be observed locally in the higher mountains.

Tonight the weather will be mostly cloudy with local rains and isolated thunderstorms. Snow is expected locally in the higher mountains. Locally the effects will be intense or even prolonged while gradually until the morning they are quite limited. The winds will blow initially, southwest to west, strong, 5 beauforts, and on the leeward coast up to very strong, 6 beauforts.

Later the winds will be mainly westerly to northwesterly, strong to very strong, 5 to 6 beauforts and locally on the leeward coast, very strong, 6 beauforts. THE sea it will be wavy in the west and north and turbulent in the south and east, to make them later generally wavy. THE temperature will fall around 9 degrees inland, around 12 on the coast and around zero in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form.

On Sunday: the weather will initially be partly cloudy with isolated rains mainly in the west, as well as snow in the higher mountains while soon the weather will become mostly clear. From the afternoon onwards, temporarily increased clouds that will be observed are expected to give isolated rains and snow locally in the mountains.

In the area will blow very strong as strong, westerly to northwesterly winds, which gradually from the afternoon onwards weaken. The Monday the weather will be mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds, which are likely to give isolated light rains and light snowfall locally in the mountains.

On Tuesday the weather will be unstable with rains, local storms as well as snow in the mountains. Locally the effects will be intense and prolonged.

The temperature will drop significantly until Monday, and not a significant change on Tuesday, to fluctuate on Monday and Tuesday significantly below the average climatic values.
