An increase of 10,9% in value and 6,5% in volume was presented by retail trade in March 2023, compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data published by the Statistical Service on Tuesday.
The largest increase in the Retail Trade Cycle Value Index in March 2023, compared to March 2022, was presented by "Textiles, clothing, footwear", with an increase of 24,6%. A large increase of 16,2% was also noted in the category "Electronic computers and telecommunications equipment, curtains, carpets, books, stationery, sports equipment, games, flowers, plants, watches, jewelry, etc."
On the contrary, a decrease of 3,9% in value was noted by the retail trade of vehicle fuels in specialized stores, compared to March 2022.
During the same month, in the Retail Trade Turnover Index, the largest increase was recorded in "Textiles, clothing, footwear", with 22,1%, while the category "Electronic computers and telecommunications equipment, curtains, carpets, books, stationery, sports equipment, games, flowers, plants, watches, jewelry, etc.” also saw an increase of 13,9%.
And by volume, there was a 2% decrease in the retail trade of vehicle fuels in specialized stores.
In the January-March quarter of 2023, the largest increase in value and volume occurred in Textiles, Clothing, Footwear, with 23,9% and 22,2% respectively, compared to the same period in 2022.
