Weak low pressure prevails in the area. From Saturday night, the field of winds will strengthen significantly, to become strong and transient to severe on Sunday. From Sunday onwards, cold air masses will affect the island.
Today, initially in most areas of the island the weather will be mostly clear, while locally increased cloudiness will be observed, however the weather will gradually become partly cloudy, while isolated rains and possibly an isolated storm are expected. In the late afternoon and after, in the west and north, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 23 degrees in the interior and the coasts and around 13 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy and locally mainly cloudy, while rain and isolated storms are expected in places, initially in the west and north and later in other, mainly coastal areas of the island. Winds will be northeast to southeast and temporarily variable, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough, however later in the west and north it will become a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 12 degrees in the interior, around 15 on the coasts and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Friday, the weather will be mainly cloudy at times, while local rains and isolated storms are expected.
On Saturday, periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of cloudiness, while isolated showers are expected. However, from the evening onwards, local rains and isolated storms are expected, initially in the west and north and progressively in the rest of the island. On Sunday, local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected in the morning hours, however, gradually the weather will improve and locally increased clouds will be observed that may give isolated rains. In the higher mountains, snow is possible.
The temperature until Saturday will gradually rise slightly, to be slightly above normal levels. On Sunday, however, a noticeable drop in temperature is expected, to fluctuate below the average climatic values of the season.
