According to a statement by the Fire Department, from 06:00 on January 15, 2026 until 06:00 on January 16, 2026, it responded to 40 calls for help, 18 fires, 20 special services and 2 false calls.

At 19:05, a call was received for a road traffic collision with trapped people in Kato Paphos. A vehicle and a rescue team from the Paphos Fire Station responded. Two people were extricated from two vehicles and after being placed on a rescue board, they were handed over to the Ambulance Service crew for transport to the T.A.E.P. of the Paphos General Hospital for treatment.

At 21:21, a call was received for a fire in a two-story stone-built house in the Pano Arodes community, in the Paphos district. The Polis Chrysochous Fire Station responded with three fire engines and the fire was brought under control at 22:49. The fire and heat caused extensive damage to the first floor and its contents, as well as the wooden roof of the house, while the ground floor and its contents were affected by smoke. The residents of the house noticed the fire and left before it spread to an open area. The fire was caused by a defective construction of a fireplace chimney.

At 03:43, a call was received for a fire in a wooden structure with a tiled roof (pergola) of a two-story house in Oroklini in the Larnaca district. The Oroklini Fire Station Sergeant Panagiotis Theofilou responded with two fire engines and the fire was brought under control at 04:17. The fire and heat affected part of the pergola, as well as its contents. An adjacent parked vehicle was also affected. In addition, the fire and heat affected part of the kitchen on the ground floor, as well as a storage room on the first floor of the house. The residents of the house noticed the fire in time and exited the house without danger. An investigation into the causes of the fire will follow, in cooperation with the Police and the Electromechanical Service.
