Ms. Kalogirou stated that "with the opening of Larnaca and Paphos airports on June 9, all appropriate measures will be taken in cooperation with the state medical services to ensure the health of passengers and staff working at airports."

It will also be mandatory for everyone to use the mask and gloves during the entire stay of anyone at the airport, while the appropriate measures will be implemented in order to maintain the necessary distance between people ".
He added that "the management company of Larnaca and Paphos airports has implemented increased cleaning measures, especially on surfaces where anyone touches, so that they are cleaned several times a day to prevent the transmission of the virus. In addition, there are the measures announced by the government for who and if can travel, if he must have taken the coronavirus test in case he visited a country that should have undergone the specific test ".
He added, "All passengers should complete a questionnaire posted on a government-created website stating if they have symptoms, if they have traveled to specific countries in recent days, and if they need to have a coronavirus test." they will be able to post it through this website ".
Asked about the measures to be taken by the employees at the two airports of Cyprus, Ms. Kalogirou said that "by the end of February the specific measures had already been implemented. There are increased cleanliness and antiseptic areas everywhere, all employees must wear a mask and gloves, where check-in and ticket offices are there screens to maintain the distance between employee and passenger, while all physical distance measures to be observed ".
Asked whether people would be able to enter the airport to pick up relatives arriving from abroad, he said: "Only passengers and staff working at airports will be allowed to enter the airport. "Relatives have to wait outside or in the parking lot," he said, adding that "Hermes is working closely with government medical services and if the measures taken differ, then we will differentiate accordingly."
Regarding the dining areas inside the airports and the duty free shops, Ms. Kalogirou said that "exactly what is valid in the other shops and restaurants, outside the airport, that is, in the cities" will apply.
The Executive Director of Hermes Airports also noted that "an information campaign will be carried out with all the measures taken at the airports, in order to inform the people about what exactly is required.
