Eurostat: 22% of Cypriots could not adequately heat their homes in 2018

23% of Greeks and 22% of Cypriots say they can not afford the financial cost of heating their homes for 2018 (3rd and 4th worst performance in the EU respectively) according to data released today by Eurostat, the EU Statistical Office.

Analytically, in 2018, 7% of the population of the European Union (EU) stated in a pan-European survey that they could not afford to heat their home adequately. This percentage peaked in 2012 (11%) and decreased in the following years. The situation in the EU Member States varies. The largest percentage of people who said they could not afford to keep their house warm enough was recorded in Bulgaria (34%), followed by Lithuania (28%), Greece (23%), Cyprus (22%). , Portugal (19%) and Italy (14%).
