With its announcement, the Civil Defense proceeded with recommendations to protect the public from the heat.

In view of the high temperatures, Civil Defense recommends that citizens avoid unnecessary movement and heavy physical work under the sun, avoid sunbathing, walking or running for a long time under the sun, and avoid crowded places , wear cool, comfortable and light-colored clothing, protect their head with a hat, wear good quality sunglasses that protect against sun glare, eat small and light meals, rich in fruits and vegetables and low in fat, drink plenty of water and fruit and vegetable juices.

It also recommends that they avoid alcoholic beverages, avoid sudden changes in temperature, use artificial means of ventilation (fans) or an air conditioning system, consult their doctor about health problems they may have and take care of relatives or others people close to them who are elderly or in need of care.

As stated in the announcement, in case of an emergency, the public can call the Single European Emergency Number 112.
