In the last 16 hours, the Police proceeded with 12 complaints of citizens and 24 premises for violation of the measures against the spread of the coronavirus.

In his statements to KYPE, a representative of the communication department of the Police, stated that during the last 24 hours, which ended at 06:00 on Friday morning, a total of 1.778 checks were carried out throughout free Cyprus.

Specifically, in Nicosia 554 inspections were carried out and 5 citizens and 8 premises were reported in Limassol 171 inspections were carried out with complaints from 3 citizens and 3 premises, in Larnaca 2 citizens and a person in charge of a property were reported after 385 inspections, in Paphos 73 inspections were reported without any complaint, in Famagusta 6 citizens were reported after 359 checks, while in the area Morphou 88 inspections were carried out without any complaints.

Finally the Traffic Departments carried out 145 inspections and the Coast Guard 3 inspections without any complaints.

With regard to property complaints, at Nicosia Police imposed a fine of € 8.000 on an premises where employees without safe pass were located while they were imposed out of court on six premises managers, who either did not have a safe pass or allowed employees to work without a safe pass.

In a cafe in Limassol An out-of-court settlement of € 8.000 was imposed after it was found that no customers were checked for a safe pass upon entering the premises. In another two premises due to the non-posting of required markings an extrajudicial € 1.000 was imposed while in company offices an extrajudicial 750 euros was imposed since an employee did not have a safe pass.
