Within days it is expected to leave the building of the Diocese of Kiti in Larnaca, the former Metropolitan of Kiti Chrysostomos, who was put on holiday last June by the Holy Synod, immediately after his conviction by the Larnaka District Court for an indecent attack on a minor schoolgirl in 1981.
Although initially he was going to settle in Paliometochos where he comes from, he will eventually move to a house that will be rented by the Diocese of Kiti in Larnaca. The same information states that his transfer will take place within days.
It is recalled that after the decision of the Holy Synod, it was decided that the former Kitiou should be moved immediately from the building of the Diocese of Kitiou, which had undertaken to locate a place for his move. He himself, however, had asked the Holy Synod to revise the decision on his relocation. When he received an answer he finally agreed to his move.
Based on the decision of the Holy Synod, the convicted person is now given a monthly grant that does not exceed 50% of his salary, with the Diocese of Kiti having to pay the rent for his accommodation. The remaining expenses for his stay will be borne by him.
It is recalled that on June 1, the former Kitiou was sentenced by the District Court of Larnaca to a prison sentence of 12 months with a three-year suspension, after he was found guilty of indecent assault on a 16-year-old girl. Through his new defense counsel, he has filed an appeal against the trial court's decision, which is unknown when it will be heard.
According to RIK information, with the departure of Father Kitios from the Metropolis, the building of the Metropolis will undergo a radical renovation.
