A new fatal road collision occurred this morning in Limassol, in which 65-year-old Georgia Christodoulidou lost her life.
As the Head of Limassol Traffic, Marios Charalambous, stated on the scene, while the 65-year-old woman was driving her private car on the Apaisia road to Agia Irini, around 6:30 in the morning, "at some point on the road, under circumstances that are being investigated, she collided head-on with a private vehicle heading in the opposite direction."
As a result of the collision, the 65-year-old woman breathed her last on the asphalt, while the driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital where he is being examined, with his health condition considered out of danger.
According to the first indications, it seems that one of the two vehicles entered the opposite direction.
As Mr. Charalambous noted, the driver of the vehicle was wearing a seat belt, while the intervention of the Fire Department was needed to extricate her.
Investigations into the new fatal road collision are ongoing.
