G. Kolokasidis: The audit report on "golden passports" causes horror

The Audit Service published its Report on the Cyprus Investment Program today, with heaps of findings.

As the presidential candidate Giorgos Kolokasidis states in his statement, "corruption in this place has gone to other levels. It's time to end the rot. It is time for those responsible to be held accountable and for those who remained silent to go home."

The report-catalyst of the Audit Service on the flimsy program of golden passports causes horror. It is now clear that the Anastasiades government organized and completed a political and economic crime of enormous proportions against the Cypriot people.

The Anastasiades government created a program of entanglement, corruption and looting of public wealth that bore the official stamp of the Council of Ministers. A program "whose fragility remained almost unchanged until its abolition", as characteristically mentioned in the report.

And no one has the right to say that he did not see, did not hear, did not know. There had been warnings early on about the program's fragility, but some turned a blind eye. As they turned a blind eye to the entanglement party and the suspected "phenomena of corruption and other criminal offences".
Who will finally take responsibility for the international drag of Cyprus and the loss of millions of public revenue from VAT and virtual real estate sales?

And why should the citizens trust those who either remained silent or covered up the scandal of scandals?

Corruption in this place has gone to other levels.

It's time to end the rot. It is time for those responsible to be held accountable and for those who remained silent to go home. The appointment of independent criminal investigators to investigate the criminal responsibilities of all involved is out of the question. There is no power without accountability.
