A woman was injured in the Avaka canyon

Help was provided by the Paphos Police and Fire Department on Saturday to a woman who was injured during the walk through the Avakas gorge, as a result of which she could not get out

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations Michalis Nikolaou, information was given on 9.11.24 at around 15:30 that a foreign woman, who was in the Avaka gorge, lost her balance, fell to the ground, as a result of which she was injured and weakened to exit the canyon.

Members of the Pegeia Police Station, as well as a team from the Fire Service, went to the scene, investigations were carried out and the injured woman was located.

As Mr. Nikolaou told KYPE, "it was established that this is a foreigner from Germany".

Subsequently, the woman was taken by ambulance to the Department of Accidents and Emergencies of the General Hospital of Paphos where it was found that she had an ankle injury. She was given first aid and subsequently discharged.
