According to him, the Irregular Immigration Prevention Team, which will be based at the Aliens and Immigration Service of the Police Headquarters, will take active duty from next Monday, September 21, 2020.
He noted that the members of this group will focus on the collection, processing and utilization of information on illegal immigration and especially on traffickers, and in particular, will evaluate information that may link illegal immigrants to illegal immigration, trafficking or trafficking. and terrorism.
Mr. Andreou stated, finally, that the Cyprus Police requested and achieved the increase of the number of EUROPOL immigration experts, who are in Cyprus (guest officers), from three to five members, for the next month.
