Hatzigianni's first statement about the consultant: "There was no payment"
Michalis Hatzigiannis made statements regarding the issue that arose last week surrounding the appointment of an advisor to the Deputy Ministry. The Deputy Minister's intervention was the first after the two announcements made by his Deputy Ministry.
"There is no question of work/employment of the person in question. A relevant contract was never concluded. This is an informal trial period collaboration on a voluntary basis, without any payment.
As a Ministry, we have not ruled out the possibility of future cooperation. The Deputy Ministry, taking into account various factors, decided not to extend the cooperation in question", he said.
An officer of the Deputy Ministry also clarified the issue regarding the email that had been created, in the name of the person in question. "Since the start of operation of the official email, it has been continuously supervised by an operator who had simultaneous access, control and supervision. It had the ability to block access in case of an issue. Full ownership of the email was never given to that person."
