The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, expressed his satisfaction with what he heard from the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during the meeting they had on Wednesday in New York.
Christodoulidis and Mitsotakis met in the American metropolis for about half an hour, as part of the coordination between Nicosia and Athens. Their meeting took place after Prime Minister Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in New York on the same day.
Asked about his earlier meeting with Mr. Erdogan, Mr. Mitsotakis, after noting that he made relevant statements after it, pointed out that the talks with the Turkish President took place in a good atmosphere.
"On the other hand, however, it was an opportunity to repeat our fixed positions regarding the Cyprus issue, always in absolute coordination with Mr. President (Christodoulidis)," he said.
For his part, the President of the Republic expressed his satisfaction with what he heard from the Greek Prime Minister. "Our efforts continue, they are joint. The coordination is continuous and I repeat that I express my satisfaction with everything I have heard", he added.
According to information, however, Mr. Erdogan more wanted to hear what the Greek Prime Minister had to tell him during their meeting.
