Euripides Fragos shocks with his post a year after the accident he had. The young man was injured outside the Antonis Papadopoulos stadium, a victim of violence in the stadiums and hooligans. While walking his dog he tried to put out a fire in the area outside the stadium.
There he unfortunately received a Molotov cocktail as a result of which he suffered burns on 45% of his body. It took several days of hospitalization in Israel for hospitalization and dozens of days of recovery. With his message, he sends a resounding message.
Below is his post
One year after the accident...
A year full of obstacles, difficulties, sorrows and joys. But I saw all this as an adventure because through this I matured and became stronger physically and mentally. The message I want to give is that there are no excuses from the moment you have your health, your legs, your hands, your eyes which are the most important and people who love you near you means you can do it all. I, Praise God, did not lose my sight, my right ear and fortunately some limb because the things were critical because I had 45 percent of my upper body second and third degree burns and no one knew whether I would live or die. My body went through a very big shock.
Things were not easy, I made it seem that way through my character, my faith and my own will and my dynamism. The source of my strength was my mother who I saw looking at me and withering, this it really helped me. The gym played an important role because two months after the accident I started working out and got back into my routine. I let the problem overwhelm me because I was already trying to solve it and what I did before I did after. The issue what I want to get across is that everything is possible and nothing is impossible.
Obstacles are just obstacles and nothing else. But through them you learn who you really are and what you can do. We have to be strong because in this life things are difficult and hard at the same time. Like Euripides I learned that you raid them now and forever all my life to adapt to situations and give up. PAIN IS OUR FRIEND, only we set the limits, no one else!!! If you put something in your mind that needs to be done, it will be done, it takes soul and courage nothing else!!!
I thank all the people who were close to me because each of you personally played your part in this obstacle.
Religion also played a big role because as a person I was never really close but after the accident because I have a tattoo of Hagia Sophia on my back the fire stopped just peripherally. For me it was a sign that God exists because it was a miracle that I survived that all this even with the pain because it gave me strength for 7 months that were important for my recovery. I didn't say once that I was always in pain smiling and cheerful because I was alive and that was what mattered.
Like a Phoenix… RISE!!!
