The weather phenomena are gradually entering a recession, the Director of the Meteorological Department, Kleanthis Nikolaidis, told KYPE, adding that the yellow warning is valid until early in the afternoon, at 4 o'clock.

"It is not expected to be reissued in any case. Tonight will be a cold night, about the same as last night. Around 3 degrees inland, around 5 to 6 degrees on the coast and -7 degrees in the higher mountains. Phenomena will continue tomorrow Wednesday with local rains, isolated thunderstorms and snowfall at an altitude of 5 meters and above, with the temperature being significantly below normal. Around 600 degrees inland and on the coast, and at 8 degrees in the highest mountains ", he added.

As Mr. Nikolaidis said, both tonight and tomorrow there will be areas with frost.

"Therefore, special attention needs to be paid to those who will use the mountain road network in particular. Tonight frost will form in semi-mountainous areas and at dawn it is possible to have frost inside ", write down.

The important thing, continued Mr. Nikolaidis, is that the phenomena are going into recession, "Although until Thursday it is possible to have a few isolated rains temporarily".

"It is noteworthy to mention that the height of the snow at the moment we are talking about in the Troodos area, in Troodos Square, to be precise, is 64 centimeters, while the snow was around 50 centimeters. So, you realize that fresh snow is already quite satisfying. The rains occurred during the night and during the day. At the moment we are talking, it is raining in several areas of Cyprus and they are expected during the rest of the day and tonight and tomorrow a few more rains ", he added.

Asked when these weather conditions are expected to subside, Mr. Nikolaidis said that it seems that the remaining days, ie Thursday we will have a substantial recession.

"Some clouds may give off individual rain. There is a possibility again on Friday and a possibility on Saturday. These are small possibilities. They are remnants of the system, which will not have a real problem on the ground. "The temperature will rise slightly to remain below the climatic averages," he concluded.
