The professor of Microbiology / Molecular Virology of the University of Nicosia, dr. Petros Karagiannis.

According to Dr. Karagiannis, -as was made clear by the Minister of Health-, the relaxations will be gradual, as happened after the first wave, in May. "The relaxations took place every fortnight and some in between. I imagine that something similar will follow now. "We will see what emerges from today's meeting," he said.

He added that, "everything will be on the table. And the doubts and needs of Economy and Education. We hope to find the golden section ".

Regarding the negative tests for employees in specific sectors, Dr. Karagiannis explained that, "with surveillance we will win the big bet so that we do not have a setback. Surveillance of those companies that will be reactivated is important. Our suggestion is to make them weekly so that we know what is happening ".

Commenting on the number of cases, Dr. Karagiannis noted that we are slowly seeing that the measures have paid off. "We believe that the reason the measures have worked is because we have limited the gatherings mainly to the houses. I believe that the restriction on gatherings and messages should continue for a while longer in order to have better results ".

Regarding the opening of the schools, Dr. Karagiannis said that he is expected to attend today's meeting but no final decision has been made.
