It is announced that, on December 07, 2023 at 07:20, the KSED activated the National Plan E-D NEARCHOS with the aim of airlifting a 57-year-old man, a crew member of the Maltese-flagged cargo ship "MGD JOY".
The ship was sailing at a distance of 110NM South-West of Cyprus, within the E-W area of responsibility of the Republic of Cyprus (Nicosia FIR) and for the execution of the airlift, a helicopter of the 460MED of the Aviation Administration of the GEEF was mobilized, with a specialized nurse of the Ambulance Service.
The person was safely delivered at 10:15 to Paphos General Hospital for further treatment.
