The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Giannis Karousos, had a formal meeting with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Cyprus, Khaled Mohammed Alsharif, on Thursday, during which the possibility of promoting air connectivity between the two countries with the launch of direct flights was discussed.
According to the GTP during the meeting, the cooperation of the two countries in various issues was reviewed, especially in the areas related to the competence of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.
The statement added that by developing the initiative launched by Cyprus at European level for the Declaration of Aviation Connectivity, Mr. Karousos and Mr. Alsharif considered the possibility of promoting air connectivity between the two countries by launching direct flights. the belief that such a development will contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations and will facilitate the interconnection of the two countries in various fields, such as trade, investment and tourism.
Finally, during the meeting, it was agreed that the cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and the Embassy of Saudi Arabia should continue, with the aim of identifying further areas for developing synergies and joint actions.
