The Pancypriot Medical Association (PIS) is asking the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) to take measures for the safety of medical workers, condemning the recent attack on a doctor at the Limassol General Hospital.
In a statement, PIS "strongly condemns the unprovoked attack received by a patient on duty Psychiatrist at the Limassol General Hospital and shares the concerns expressed by the Pan-Cypriot Union of Government Doctors (PASYKI) in its related complaint".
He notes that "it is unthinkable to put the physical integrity of our members at risk" and calls on the OKYpY "to take care of the safety of medical workers and proceed immediately to take measures in this direction".
In conclusion, PIS points out that "unfortunately, this is not the first time that health professionals become victims of violence, which should not be tolerated by anyone".
