Mr. Marios Neophytou brought to light an unbelievable complaint regarding the manipulations of Health officials that cost the life of a fellow citizen. The transfer to Makareio Hospital, the "go to the General Hospital" and the answer of OKYPY for the whole story.
Mr. Neophytou with an intervention in the ANT1 show "Mera Mesimeri" narrated the events as he lived them on April 10, when he participated in a sports activity with a friend, who unfortunately lost his life after a while.
It all started, according to Mr. Neophytou, when at the end of their sport at the stadiums of Agios Dimitrios, near Makareio in Nicosia, the two moved to the parking lot to leave. At that point his friend felt unwell where he fainted.
Mr. Neophytou immediately transported him to Makareio Hospital, and according to him, as soon as the messenger saw them, he told them "here, sir, there is nothing we can do, leave and go to the General Hospital". Even when he indicated that his friend was unconscious in the car, the messenger insisted on his original position, as well as two women who left the hospital at that time, who according to Mr. Neophytou must have been nurses.
Seeing that all his appeals fell on deaf ears, he decided to take his friend by car to the Limassol General Hospital, but in the middle of the journey he completely lost consciousness, with the result that Mr. Neophytou panicked. "What to do, where to go" he recounts of those dramatic moments.
At that point he called an ambulance to pick up his friend, and with KARPA efforts they tried to bring him back to life until the ambulance arrived, which arrived about 10 minutes after the call.
When he was taken to Nicosia General Hospital, the doctors on duty were unable to bring him back to life. Budget for TAEP in Makareio
"We will definitely pay attention to it," OKYPY Spokesman Charalambos Charilaou replied to the accusation from "Mera Mesimeri", noting, however, that Makareio Hospital operates for women and children anyway.
He noted, however, that the Organization's Budget for the establishment of a TAEP at Makareio Hospital is already in the plan, but said that assistance should be provided to the deceased, something that will clearly be investigated.
