Police are investigating a complaint of an attack by a high school student on a teacher on January 14.
The Press Spokesperson of the Larnaca Police Department, Spyros Chrysostomou, stated that a high school teacher in Larnaca filed a complaint for an assault by a 12.5-year-old student, who allegedly punched her in the stomach after remarks she made to him.
Mr. Chrysostomou stated that the case is being investigated in collaboration with other services of the Ministry of Education and Social Welfare Services.
The President of the Federation of Secondary and Technical Education Parents' Associations of Larnaca, Costas Costa, told CNA that "we condemn the incident and demand a full investigation and accountability."
He noted that "the incident is particularly worrying, therefore all preventive measures should be taken, and where necessary, specific measures to address the phenomenon of delinquency."
