The Government Spokesman, Constantinos Letymiotis, characterized the visit of the President of the Republic to Berlin as an important opportunity to exchange views in relation to the Cyprus issue, the economy and immigration.

Tonight, the President of the Republic will have an important opportunity to exchange views in relation to his proposal for more active involvement of the EU in the efforts to restart the negotiations, in economic matters and on the immigration issue, where he will be in Frankfurt for the special ceremony for the 25th Anniversary of the European Central Bank, as he will sit down to a dinner with the President of the ECB Ms. Lagarde and the main guests, the Chancellor of Germany Mr. Scholz as well as the Presidents of the three EU institutions Ms. Von de Leyen, Ms. Metsola and Mr. Michel . Other heads of state will also take part in the ceremony.
Tomorrow, during the meeting he will have in Berlin with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the President of the Republic will exchange views in depth to promote his proposal for the EU to take a leading role in the effort to end the impasse and restart the negotiations. During the meeting, the President of the Republic and the German Chancellor will have the opportunity to discuss at length issues of strengthening bilateral relations as well as current issues of concern to the EU.
It is noted that Germany, as one of the countries that play an important role within the European family, is an important partner of Cyprus in our effort to resolve the Cyprus problem within the agreed framework.
