The Environmental Movement - Citizens' Cooperation with a statement condemns the illegal use of animals and birds as prizes in the cazand.
Such is the announcement
Once again we received complaints about a series of unacceptable incidents against animals and birds at a fair, this time of Agios Neophytos, in the village of Tala, Paphos District. According to the complaint, it appears that peddlers are illegally selling parrots, canaries and turtles as prizes in the "kazanti" game of chance.
The coordinator of the Movement's action group for animals, Ms. Anthi Mouzouri, in her statements states that: "As the Environmentalists Movement - Citizens' Cooperation we condemn such incidents and express our strong displeasure, as this is an action that violates the existing legislation.
We remind you that, since 2015, with a law proposal submitted by our former MP Mr. Giorgos Perdikis and passed by the House of Representatives, the use of birds and animals as a prize in the "cauldron" is illegal.
We, in turn, have informed the police about the incident in question and expect the law to be implemented.
A society that wants to be called civilized must first of all respect animals."
