The Department of Meteorology issued a yellow warning for isolated severe storms for Wednesday.

Detailed weather forecast

Weak low pressure and unstable air masses are affecting the area. From Friday onwards, dust will be suspended in the atmosphere, the concentrations of which may be increased at times.

Initially today, the weather will be mainly clear with locally increased low clouds, especially in the coastal areas. During the midday hours and onwards, clouds that will thicken and develop are expected to give local rains and isolated storms, especially in the mountains, inland and the east. Hail is expected to fall in a storm. Winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually by the afternoon on the windward coast, to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough, however in the morning hours in the south and east it will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 27 inland, around 26 on the east and south coasts, around 24 on the west and north coasts and around 19 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear, while locally increased low clouds will be observed, especially in the western half of the island. Winds will remain mainly southwest to northwest, in the interior and east, weak, 3 Beaufort and in the windward coastal areas weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea in the east will become calm to slightly rough, however on the rest of the coast it will remain slightly rough. The temperature will drop to around 16 degrees in the interior and the coast and around 9 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Thursday, in most areas of the island it will be mainly clear with locally increased clouds, which however at noon and after, are expected to give isolated rains, mainly in the mountainous areas. On Friday, the weather will be mainly clear with increased high clouds.

On Saturday, the weather will remain mainly clear with increased highs and gradually increasing medium clouds.

The temperature is not expected to change significantly until Friday, remaining close to and slightly below seasonal levels. However, on Saturday, a noticeable increase in temperature is expected, to be slightly above average climatic values.
