A Yellow Warning was issued on Tuesday morning by the Department of Meteorology for extremely high temperatures.
According to the announcement, the warning will be in effect from 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday until 4 p.m. the same day.
The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius in inland areas and around 32 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.

Today the weather will be mostly clear, although initially there will be locally increased low clouds. Winds will blow, initially variable light 3 Beaufort, to gradually become, mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 40 degrees in the interior, around 34 in the south-west and on the eastern coasts, around 32 on the rest of the coasts as well as in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be mainly clear, although, mainly in the west, there will be a passing increase in low cloud. Winds will initially be mainly westerly as northwesterlies 3 and locally up to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort, later becoming variable 2 to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 22 degrees in the interior and on the northern coasts, around 24 on the rest of the coasts and around 20 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the weather will be mostly clear, with the temperature not showing any significant change and fluctuating above the average climatic values.
