The Meteorology Department issued a yellow warning for rain and storms.
According to the warning, isolated strong storms are expected to affect the area from time to time, initially the western half of the island and then other areas.
Rainfall intensity is expected to range between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour, while hail will fall locally.
Winds may change and strengthen with gusts that may reach 8 Beaufort.
The warning will be in effect from 21:00 PM tonight until 17:00 PM Friday afternoon.
