The Paphos Police arrested a person on Monday for allegedly abducting a 24-year-old woman in Paphos, who, according to the complaint, he kept under restraint in order to "persuade her to enter into a sexual relationship with him".

According to the press representative of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos Michalis Nikolaou on July 26 at around 00:30 a 24-year-old permanent resident of Paphos complained that on two occasions a person she knows and maintains friendly relations with, against her will, he had placed in his car, while he then took her to his house where he had her confined. The complainant attributed his behavior to "he had feelings for her and she didn't reciprocate".

Mr. Nikolaou reported to KYPE that the 24-year-old woman told the Police that in these two cases, on July 20 and 24, for a period of two days in each case, she did not suffer any sexual abuse but was under restraint "in his attempt to convince her that she had to have an affair with him."

Also, the complainant stated that the alleged perpetrator took away her mobile phone so that she could not communicate and ask for help.

In both cases, the 24-year-old managed to escape from him. An arrest warrant was issued against this person. He was finally arrested on Monday afternoon and taken into custody.

The offenses facing the alleged perpetrator are robbery, kidnapping and psychological violence and violence against women.

The exams are continued by TAE Paphos.
